Liny Chan (Godan, 5th degree black belt)
- Started practice with Canada Shotokan Karate in September, 1992.
- Has travelled to Japan, Spain, France and Israel to practice karate.
- Visits the Ohshima dojo several times a year to attend classes led by Ohshima Sensei.
- Awarded Best Competitor by Ohshima Sensei at the 2001 Nisei Week Exhibition/Tournament in Los Angeles.
- Has attended gasshuku (special training) in Okinawa, Japan.
- Asked by Ohshima Sensei to demonstrate torite (escaping techniques) at the 2004 Nisei Week Exhibition/Tournament and the 2006 Unity Celebration.
- Promoted to Yodan in June 2009 by Ohshima Sensei.
- Promoted to Godan in August 2018 by Ohshima Sensei.

Lawrence Hsu (Nidan, 2nd degree black belt)
- Started practice with Canada Shotokan Karate in September, 2002.
- Has travelled to Japan to practice karate.
- Has participated in many Goodwill Cup tournaments.
- Has attended special trainings in the Pacific Northwest, Montreal and in California.
- Promoted to Nidan in June 2016.

Wes Chan (Nidan, 2nd degree black belt)
- Started practice with Canada Shotokan Karate in September 2001.
- Has attended anniversary events led by Ohshima Sensei.
- Promoted to Nidan in July 2022.
- Is the Burnaby dojo manager.

Emily Doan (Nidan, 2nd degree black belt)
- Started practice with Canada Shotokan in September, 2005.
- Has attended gasshuku (special training) in Katsuura, Japan.
- Has visited the Ohshima dojo on several occasions to attend classes led by Ohshima Sensei.
- Promoted to Nidan in July 2022.
